These Terms of Use govern your use of lawfinch.com and the LawFinch matching service, a service of HelpMatch, LLC operating under the LawFinch brand (“LawFinch,” “we,” “us”). By using the service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Attorneys participating in the LawFinch network are additionally governed by the Attorney Terms of Service, which controls for the services it covers. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
LawFinch is a lawyer matching service. We connect people seeking legal help with independent attorneys in our network. LawFinch is not a law firm, does not practice law, and does not provide legal advice. Using LawFinch does not create an attorney-client relationship with LawFinch. Any attorney-client relationship is formed solely between you and the attorney you choose to engage, on terms you agree with that attorney.
Attorneys in the LawFinch network are independent professionals, not our employees or agents. Attorneys pay a fee to participate in the network. We do not endorse or vouch for any attorney or the outcome of any matter, and no representation is made that the quality of legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers. Information available through LawFinch is general information, not legal advice; confirm anything important with a licensed attorney.
Information you submit to LawFinch is not protected by attorney-client privilege until you form an attorney-client relationship with an attorney. Share the details an attorney needs, and save the rest for your engaged counsel.
You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You agree to use the service only for your own genuine legal needs, and not to submit false inquiries, harvest information, resell or redistribute information obtained through the service, interfere with the service, or use it for any unlawful purpose. Getting matched is free for consumers. By submitting an inquiry you direct us to share your information with the attorney we match you with, and you consent to being contacted by LawFinch and that attorney about your inquiry as described at the point of submission.
We do not guarantee that an attorney will accept your matter, that a consultation will be free (though many attorneys offer free first consultations), or any particular result. Deadlines, including statutes of limitation, are your responsibility until you have engaged an attorney; do not delay seeking counsel because you are waiting on a match.
By providing your phone number you agree to receive calls and text messages about your inquiry from LawFinch and your matched attorney(s), as disclosed where you submit your number. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency varies; reply STOP to opt out of texts, and use the unsubscribe link to opt out of marketing email. You represent that you are the subscriber or customary user of any number you provide and agree to keep your contact information current. You agree to indemnify LawFinch against claims arising from your providing a number that is not yours or failing to notify us that a number is no longer yours.
If you submit content to the service (such as reviews or feedback), you grant LawFinch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and display it in connection with the service. Content must be truthful, based on your own experience, and lawful; we may moderate or remove content at our discretion. Feedback may be used freely without compensation. The LawFinch name, logo, and site content belong to HelpMatch, LLC or its licensors; you may not copy, scrape, or reuse them without permission.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. LAWFINCH MAKES NO WARRANTY ABOUT THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF INFORMATION PROVIDED BY ATTORNEYS OR OTHER USERS, AND IS NOT LIABLE FOR THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF ANY ATTORNEY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HELPMATCH, LLC (INCLUDING ITS LAWFINCH SERVICE), ITS AFFILIATES, AND THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, AND THEIR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID LAWFINCH IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100). You are responsible for your own due diligence on any attorney, including confirming licensure with the relevant bar.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LawFinch and the parties above from claims arising out of your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to send a written description of the dispute to support@lawfinch.com and give us thirty (30) days to resolve it informally. Any dispute not resolved informally shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, which govern the hearing locale for consumers. You and LawFinch each waive jury trials, and claims may be brought only in an individual capacity, not as a class or representative proceeding; if the class waiver is found unenforceable, the dispute shall proceed in court instead. Either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court, or seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property or unauthorized access matters.
Opt-out: you may opt out of this arbitration agreement by written notice postmarked within fourteen (14) days of first accepting these Terms, sent to HelpMatch, LLC (LawFinch), Attn: Legal, 2740 SW Martin Downs Blvd, Unit 292, Palm City, FL 34990, including your name, contact details, and a clear opt-out statement. Opting out does not affect any other provision of these Terms.
We may suspend or discontinue the service, or terminate access, at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be posted with an updated effective date, and continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect; no failure to enforce is a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them without restriction. You consent to receive electronic communications about the service. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and (for attorneys) the Attorney Terms of Service are the entire agreement.
